The gospel is a very churchy word, which means good news! And I would like to highlight the descriptive word in that definition, "good". What is this news that is so good? How good is this news? Well let me break it down for you!

It is so important to know this truth. Not only is there a God who created you wonderfully and creatively (Psa. 139:13-14), but He actually loves you. He loved you so much that He gave His Son for you (John 3:16). He wants you to have life and life abundantly at that (John 10:10), and He wants to have a relationship with you.

God is a holy, perfect, all-powerful, amazing God, and we can't be in the presence of His glory as sinners. All of humanity is born with sinful flesh and we have all fallen short of His glory, and the wages of sin is death, or separation from God (Romans 3:23, 6:23).

God's provision for humanity was to sacrifice Himself by sending Christ Jesus to the world. It is our spot that He took on that cross. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Through Him and only Him, we can know God personally (John 14:6). And to show that Jesus is God and could forgive sins, He did what only God can do—He rose Himself from the dead before returning to Heaven.

You can recieve eternal life because of what Jesus did on the cross! In fact, the moment you do, you become a child of God (John 1:12). It is a free gift (to you), not anything that you can earn but it is given, you just have to receive it! (Ephesians 2:8). It is what is called grace—receiving a gift that we did not earn. Believing in God is one thing, but recieving Him as your Lord is another.

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."
(Revelation 3:30)

Now, here is the cool thing! You (reading this right now) can accept Jesus RIGHT NOW! And you can by faith, go from death to life! It is by the free gift of Jesus that we are able to do this!!
